Is Made in Abyss Season 2 on Amazon Prime?
Unfortunately, fans will not be able to find Made in Abyss Season 2 on Amazon Prime Video. The first season of the anime can be found there, but its second season is going to be a HIDIVE exclusive. It’s really unclear why the show is now on this only platform, and fans are torn about it.
Some say that they are happy that Made in Abyss is not on Amazon Prime solely for the fact that they have a ‘bad rep’ of not including dubs of shows.
Others are furious about HIDIVE’s really confusing and not user-friendly website.
One Redditor shared that they’ve run into quite a few problems on HIDIVE, including not finding a next/previous button, experiencing frequent crashes on the web player (even in the middle of streaming), and having to search for a show even if they watched it before.
So, Why Is the Show Only on HIDIVE Simulcast?
In a news post last year on Sentai Filmworks’ website, it was mentioned that the network acquired Made in Abyss Season 2 and would distribute the anime on “select digital outlets” but with no confirmation on which they were.
Since there is very little information about that specific subject online, we can only speculate that Sentai struck a deal with HIDIVE, which is a relatively newly established independent anime streaming business with headquarters in Houston, Texas. They have obtained the rights to more than 500 series, films, and OVAs in this short period of time, and offer them to customers at a price that won’t break the bank, or so they say on their website.
Since HIDIVE obtains rights to some animes, it’s an easy guess, especially since the second season isn’t on Crunchyroll, one of the biggest anime streaming platforms out there.
