Made in Abyss Season 2, also called Made In Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun (Made In Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ougonkyou), is going to be released this coming July 6th as part of the Summer anime season on HIDIVE. But to watch Season 2, you’ll need to watch the sequel film Made in Abyss the Movie: Dawn of the Deep Soul (Gekijoban Made in Abyss: Fukaki Tamashii no Reimei) which ties both seasons. Here’s where to watch it if you don’t want to be left confused!
Where to Watch Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul Before Season 2
You can catch Dawn of the Deep Soul on HIDIVE in Latin American Spanish, Japanese, and English dub, as well as Latin American Spanish and English subtitles. You can also rent it on Apple TV, however, it is not available anywhere else. Your only bet is to watch the movie on HIDIVE before Season 2 airs on the streaming network.
It might be confusing to have so many different titles with no clear indication of where to start if you’re new to the series, so HIDIVE has made something super neat for new watchers of the series and as a refresh for fans as well. Here is their chronological cheat sheet on how to watch the movies in the proper order:
Because Journey’s Dawn and Twilight are recaps of Season 1, they might be your best bet to quickly catch up to the series before Season 2 drops.
Unfortunately, The Golden City of the Scorching Sun has not been announced for any other streaming platform yet, but there are other ways to see it! Albeit not right away.
Two Blu-Ray/DVD box volumes containing all 12 episodes of Made In Abyss Season 2 will be published. Volume 2 will be released on December 23, 2022, and Volume 1 will be released on October 26, 2022. An extra mini-anime episode will be included in the first volume. It hasn’t been confirmed where exactly you’ll be able to buy those, but if we base ourselves on Made in Abyss Season 1, you’ll be able to grab the volumes on Amazon and even stream it on Prime Video.
A special live streaming event on YouTube on May 5, 2022, unveiled further details about Made in Abyss Season 2. Along with director Masayuki Kojima and producer Shinpei Yamashita, guests included Japanese voice actors Mariya Ise (Reg) and Miyu Tomita (Riko Azuna).
Typically, HIDIVE airs series an hour after they are broadcast in Japan. In light of this, we anticipate the next season to have its global premiere on July 6 at the following times:
- Pacific Time: 7:30 am
- Central Time: 9:30 am
- Eastern Time: 10:30 am
- British Time: 3:30 pm
Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, which is based on the Akihito Tsukushi manga, is once more being directed by Masayuki Kojima at the Kinema Citrus studio. Hideyuki Kurata composed the series, Kazuhicka Kise created the character designs, and Kevin Penkin composed the music.
Are you excited about the new season? Are you caught up already? Better hurry if you are not!
