Zelda’s Lofi Kingdom has been released as of April 10th on all major storefronts and streaming platforms. The new 14-track album features music from Lofi composer Jokabi and covers popular songs from both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Mikel, Jokabi’s brother and creator of Lofi hip-hop series Zelda & Chill, helped compose and is a featured artist on three of the album’s tracks.

Jokabi, a rising star in the world of Lofi music, captivates listeners with his soulful melodies and atmospheric beats. His breakout came with the release of debut album “Echoes of the Past,” which garnered widespread acclaim for its emotive soundscapes and intricate production. Since then, he has continued to enchant audiences with a string of mesmerizing releases, earning him a dedicated following in the lo-fi community. Jokabi gained significant attention with the creation of the Chilltendo lofi series that features music from popular Nintendo series like The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Super Smash Bros., and, of course, Super Mario Bros.

He relates his instant inspiration for the album when playing Tears of the Kingdom for the first time: “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released on my birthday while I was traveling Japan for the first time. I was especially hyped about this game and it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with it and its soundtrack. What started off with just a few remix sketches ended up in a bigger project and eventually an album. Since the soundtracks in the game have a lot of woodwinds, I decided to add flute and wind elements to many of the tracks. My trip through Japan had its influence on the production, and it was while traveling I decided to make a traditional Japanese folk music-inspired remix of Fairy Fountain. Some of the flutes in the tracks are ‘Dadis’ or ‘Shakuhachis’ which are traditional bamboo flutes from China and Japan.”

Zelda’s Lofi Kingdom includes the following tracks:

In 2017, Nintendo introduced The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, an action-adventure game available on the Nintendo Switch and Wii U platforms. Positioned at the conclusion of the Zelda timeline, players assume the role of an amnesiac Link, embarking on a quest to rescue Princess Zelda and thwart the destructive ambitions of Calamity Ganon. The game unfolds in the expansive realm of Hyrule, inviting players to engage in exploration, solve puzzles, and tackle side quests while gathering items. Notably, Breath of the Wild’s open-ended structure promotes freedom and experimentation, allowing players to progress through the story in a nonlinear manner.
