Made in Abyss Season 2, The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, is SO close we can almost taste it! Well, ok. Don’t actually taste it — highly recommend against doing that — but we are so excited! The new season was announced to be released on July 6th, but at what time? We’ve got the details for you!

What Time Does Made in Abyss Season 2 Premiere?

HIDIVE released a blog post on June 30th announcing that Made in Abyss Season 2 will air on July 6th at 10:30 am EDT, 7:30 am PDT. In other time zones, that’s 9:30 a.m. Central and 8:30 a.m. Mountain.

That means the new episode drops pretty much when you’re about to wake up, or still in pajamas if you’ve got the day to yourself. This means that there won’t be any real waiting on premiere day! Hurray! So grab your breakfast and favorite drink, tune in to HIDIVE and enjoy the ride.

If you’re not caught up just yet with Season 1, you can instead watch the two movies that sum the season up and follow it with Dawn of the Deep Soul, which is a must to watch beforehand.

Here are the links where you can watch those:

HIDIVE is warning people that Season 2 is going to be a scorcher, but we’re not sure if they mean that it is going to be action-packed and edge-of-seat worthy, or if they just wanted to add a pun in their tweet. Regardless, we’re pretty excited!

And it seems that a lot of fans are also excited. Of course, they are! Why wouldn’t they be?

What is Made in the Abyss?

Akihito Tsukushi is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series Made in Abyss (Japanese:メイドインアビス, Hepburn: Meido in Abisu). It has been made into 10  tankōbon volumes after being serialised online in Web Comic Gamma, a digital publication by Takeshobo, since 2012. The narrative centres on an orphaned child named Riko who, in an effort to locate her mother, befriends a humanoid robot named Reg and travels with him into the titular “Abyss” that extends deep within the Earth.

From where we left off, Season 2 will see Riko, Reg, and Nanachi set out on their quest to learn more about the mysteries of the abyss.

They encounter many creatures that resemble Reg while on their quest, as well as a princess who appears to be privy to important details regarding Reg’s ancestry. There, the group also discovers more about the abyss dwellers and how they managed to establish a civilisation in such a dangerous environment. They might learn how to survive on their treacherous journey ahead from the responses they hear.

What about you? Have you already caught up with Season 1 or watched the movies instead?
