Westworld Season 4 is ending, and most of us are wondering how time flew by this quickly. It is like they say “Time flies when you’re having fun!” and fans will agree with this saying, with the show ranking at 81% on Rotten Tomatoes. So when will Season 5 air? Let’s find out.
What is Westworld?
If you’re new to the show, Westworld is the creation of Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who developed the American dystopian science fiction, neo-Western television series. It is produced and broadcast by HBO and was filmed in a few locations in the United States. It is a theme park with a Wild West theme and a robot population. The park’s high-end visitors may act out their wildest dreams without fear of reprisal from the park’s hosts, who are programmed not to hurt people. Of course, things got a lot more complicated than that as the series continued.
What Did We See in Season 4?
Season 4 has proved to be a roller coaster of emotions filled with questions answered and more hypotheses and mysteries than ever before. Even some of the songs in the show could imply deeper meaning, and this is basically a great way to stay awake at night with a million ways to think about this series.

So Is Westworld Returning for Season 5?
Westworld has not been officially renewed for a fifth season as of the time this article was written. However, in an interview conducted with Ed Harris talking about his character, it seems that the fifth season will be happening and will be filmed during next April and May.
However, Harris sadly hinted at the fact that the fifth season will be the last of the series.
“I’m hoping that some aspect of who he was when he was younger comes back, but I really don’t know if it will. I have no idea what they’re planning. We have one more season, which will start filming next April and May. I have no idea where that’s going to end up,” he told Hollywood Reporter.
We’re happy that the show will return, but if this is the last season, how will we relieve the itch of the Robopocalypse?! We at least now have some idea about when we will see the fifth and last season.
Since filming is going to happen from April 2023 through May 2023, we should expect Season 5 to hit our screens anywhere from August to October 2023. According to IMDB pro, the time it takes between filming, editing, and release varies from season to season. So it’s safe to guess that we’ll likely see Season 5 in Fall of 2023.
In the meantime, we’ll just have to imagine ourselves submerged in the Westworld world. Which, according to the same interview with Ed Harris, might be a scary place to imagine.
In the interview, when asked about his opinion on technology evolving at lighting-fast speeds, he told Hollywood Reporter:
“I have to say that I think it’s our responsibility as humans to deal with technology constructively. As great as the internet is in keeping people connected, it also increases people’s ability to do really evil things, whether it’s bullying or sending death threats to senators. I personally am way behind in terms of even grasping the current technology, and I don’t care. I just as soon throw the cell phone in the ocean most of the days. It’s frightening to me. My daughter is 29 and I’m 71. I can’t imagine what the world would be like when she’s my age, can’t even imagine.”
