Westworld has had some amazing music in Season 4, like the ending song to the Season 4 premiere. There were some great cover songs in Season 4 Episode 3 too, especially the piano songs while Maeve and Caleb were in the “Golden Age” world. Here’s a look at what those songs were.

This story has spoilers for Season 4 Episode 3.

The First Piano Song Was a Cover of Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy

When Maeve and Caleb first walked into the 1920s bar that was modeled after her saloon from Westworld, a vaguely familiar cover song was playing. Some viewers picked up on it immediately and others weren’t quite sure why it sounded so familiar.

It was a piano cover of Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy.

Here’s Eliish’s original version:

This new version was by Ramin Djawadi, and it’s already available to listen to on YouTube. The song is below or at the link here

Many viewers had big compliments for this song online. On YouTube, Byron J wrote, “this is all I needed to my weekend to be perfect 🤗”

Kurt Oppenheim wrote, “I always enjoy picking out the melodies when I hear these in the show!”

There was a pretty good hint in the shot itself, when Frankie says something about “bad guys” just a couple of minutes after this rendition played.

This isn’t the same version, but if you’re interested in learning how to play Bad Guy on the piano, this video covers the details. Or you can download sheet music here.

The Second Piano Song Was a Cover of Enter Sandman by Metallica

Viewers were able to identify the second cover a little more quickly than the first, but it was no less impressive. This piano tune was a cover of Metallica’s “Enter Sandman,” this one was by Ramin Djawadi.

Here’s the original version by Metallica and their official music video for the song, filmed in 1991:

Here’s the new version for Westworld (which you can also watch at this link):

Many fans commented on how Metallica’s having a great season right now, thanks to being featured on both Stranger Things and Westworld.

On YouTube, Nerd’s Eye View wrote, “Metallica is being used by everyone now. First C.O.D MW. Then Stranger Things and now Westworld.”

On Reddit, u/Classic_Wingers wrote, “I’ve never heard Enter Sandman sound so jazzy before. He really is on another level when it comes to his music.”

The music is so compelling in each episode that it’s almost become its own character at this point, u/desgraciadamente pointed out

Iamkats wrote, “First there was the Billie Eilish rendition and I was like, okay that’s pretty cool. Then the Sandman rendition and I was like let’s goooo.”

A tutorial for a piano version of Enter Sandman (not the same as the one we heard) is here. Sheet music is here.
