Cendres

Up first is Cendres (which, by the way, is French for Ashes.) This game is releasing in 2021 and you can add it to your wishlist to be notified when it’s available on Steam here. The game is greyscale (fitting for a game called “Ashes”). It’s survival of the fittest, as your team’s party is allocated with resources and meds. The Steam page describes the game this way: “A survival journey through a harsh world without rules or judgement. Only your choices matter in the face of moral dilemmas. Manage your party, food & equipment on this non-linear narrative survival sim with 34 possible endings.”

Zelter

Zelter is an action survival game based in a zombie apocalypse. (In German, Zelter means “palfrey,” a type of horse.) It releases October 22, 2020.

Here’s the game’s Steam page.

The Steam page describes the game this way: “The zombie apocalypse is a tough situation to overcome, even if it takes place in a cute pixelated universe! Try to defend your home and save people from the hordes of zombies in this new crafting survival game.”

Foresight Games’ Joana Dimas and Sergio Gil are bringing us Project Haven. A release date isn’t yet announced, but you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam for notifications here.

The game’s Steam description reads: “Project Haven is a Tactical Turn-Based RPG with a gritty story for a mature audience. Alone or with up to three friends, you command the Steel Dragons, a mercenary outfit fighting for survival in the harsh, urban near-future that is Haven City.”

Drone Swarm

Drone Swarm is releasing on October 20. You can see the game’s Steam page here.

The game’s Steam description reads: “Control a swarm of 32,000 drones in this strategy-adventure set in space! Jump from system to system and battle powerful alien fleets. Destroy enemy vessels, slam them into one another, block attacks and outsmart defenses.”

You’re controlling a swarm of drones while you’re on a mission to find a New Earth (that’s how this is apocalyptic.) Here’s a quote from the Steam page:

The year is 2118. Earth lays in ruins after huge swathes of it were destroyed by a massive swarm of alien drones. The psionics among the few human survivors found a way to control the drones and halt the attack. With the swarm now under human control and Earth uninhabitable, the starship Argo was built and sent out to find New Earth. You, Captain Carter, lead this mission – the swarm is yours to command!
