The cast list of George Miller’s upcoming Furiosa film keeps getting more and more impressive.

We heard speculation that The Witch’s Anya Taylor-Joy was pinned for the title role, playing a young Furiosa in what seems to be an origin story set in the Mad Max universe, but now we have confirmation for that role as well as a few other goodies.

Chris Hemsworth, whom you might know better as Thor, as well as Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, aka Black Manta from Aquaman, have also been confirmed as stars in the movie.

Despite the obvious DC/Marvel juxtaposition here, there is no word yet on which characters each actor will play.

Miller will direct, co-write, and produce the new film along with business partner Doug Mitchell. Miller will also be bringing back many of the same crew as he had with the blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road.

Nico Lathouris will help co-write the script with Miller, along with production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt. If those names sound familiar to you, it might be because they each won an Oscar for their work on Fury Road.

So we know that Furiosa will have an all-star cast, a proven crew behind the scenes, and the direction of George Miller, but we still don’t know much more about the plot other that the fact that it’s set before Furiosa met Max as seen in Fury Road. Fans have been fascinated with the Furiosa character after Charlize Theron’s spectacular portrayal in 2015, so it’s exciting to see more fleshed out in that story.

In a recent interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz, Anya Taylor-Joy expressed her own excitement with her role as Furiosa. “I fell in love with Furiosa, the way that Charlize presented her. She did such an incredible job and it was so beautiful and I can’t even think about trying to step [into her shoes]. It has to be something different, because it just can’t be done.”
