I’m not sure what it is about this week, but the videos for this YouTube round-up are all top-notch. I usually try to cut the best videos down to five or six, but this time we have nine videos that include short films, gameplay videos, an audiobook, and even a real post-apocalyptic hatchet build.

This film won the award for Best Short Film at the Wasteland Film Festival during Wasteland Weekend, so you know it’s good.
SCAVENGER (2021) Trailer
I love me a good post-apocalyptic road movie, and this one features a pretty badass car. Scavenger is set to release for VOD in the US on May 11.
Building Mad Max Battle Cars With Adam Savage – Savage Builds
I do believe this is an older video, but it showed up this week on Discovery Australia’s channel. Adam Savage (Mythbusters) joins Simone Giertz and Laura Kampf to build some pretty amazing post-apocalyptic vehicles.
Horror Short Film “A Shot in the Dark”
If you’re looking for a scary post-apocalyptic short film, this one is good. Great acting, story, cinematography — everything. And if you’re into horror but not already following ALTER, give them a sub, also. They’re like DUST for horror fans.
Outriders Livestream Gameplay
Outriders is a newly launched post-post-apocalyptic shooter that’s shown off in great detail during this livestream. If you’re thinking about grabbing it, you should check this one out first.
Cooking Simulator – Shelter Teaser
When this trailer launched on April 1st, I thought it was an April Fool’s joke. But the add-on for the popular Cooking Simulator game is very real and I can’t wait to play it!
Wasteland Punk (Early Access) – Android Gameplay
Wasteland Punk is a mobile game for the Android platform that actually has some great RPG elements for such a seemingly simple game.
Point of Impact | by Kyla Stone Book 2 | Audiobook
The popular Nuclear Dawn series consists of five books by Kyla Stone, and this reading is from Book 2. Take note that the videos on this channel for this series are all messed up, so their listing for Book 1 is actually Book 2, Book 3 is actually Book 1, and Book 2 is actually Book 3. They’re all there, you just have to ignore the covers and listen for the intros. Totally worth it though!
Forging a Wrench Into a Mad Max Wasteland Hatchet – The Monkey Hatchet
Paul is a great guy who’s very active in the Wasteland cosplay and weapon-making scene. This channel is dedicated to his forge creations, and this hatchet is an excellent example.
