YouTube Round-up: The Best Post-Apocalyptic Ambient Music of April 8-14

Weekly Round-up

Post-apocalyptic ambience is a thing that people really seem to enjoy these days. It’s quite popular for those of us looking for some soothing sounds to play as our own personal soundtrack as we chill, study, or just draw inspiration.

Every week when I compile these YouTube round-ups, I come across a few of these types of videos, and I always tell myself that I’ll compile these into a separate round-up one day. Well, that day is here.

I’ve compiled this list from videos made in the last 7 days that I felt had the best combination of mood, music, and even background image. So sit back, lock the door, and chill with these post-apocalyptic ambient sounds.

ASMR Sci-Fi Post Apocalyptic Ambience – Nature Life Taking Over the Old City Ruins
This one is the perfect combo of soft background music mixed with natural sounds like a waterfall, exotic birds, insects, and a light breeze through the trees.

Classic Sci-fi Suspense / Cinematic Action Music Theme | Post-apocalyptic
This one isn’t quite as relaxing as the others on this list, but it’s still a great soundtrack for some classic sci-fi inspiration.

Instrumental Guitar Post-Apocalyptic Music /|Prophecy|\
While several of these videos are compiled of songs and sounds from other sources (like video games), this one is the original work of the channel’s owner, Ralpi. It features a catchy bit of guitar work but is sadly only about three and a half minutes long.

Hiding From Dina In The Grass (THE LAST OF US Part II)
A mixture of ambient music from The Last of Us Part II soundtrack and sounds from the game, this one is a full hour and guaranteed to lower your blood pressure.

ASMR Sci-Fi Post Apocalyptic Ambience
This one is from the Horizon Zero Dawn soundtrack with soothing waterfall sounds and birds in the background, but be aware that it might freak you out a bit when the giant robotic giraffe starts walking around in the background.

Wasteland Chill Mix
Here’s some extremely relaxing music from Fallout 4‘s original soundtrack mixed with a bit of ambient sounds to help you imagine you’re sitting alone in an old abandoned building just before a Deathclaw eats your face.

Faint Echos – Post-Apocalyptic / Wasteland / Dark Ambient Music for Reading or Roleplaying
Another one that’s not as relaxing as it is inspirational, this one is an original composition by the channel’s owner with some real creepiness to it that I love. Best with earbuds!

10 HOURS Chill With Joel & Ellie
Here’s another one taken from The Last of Us soundtrack, but this one is 10 full hours. It’s good for those who like to listen to this type of music while they sleep… if you’re one of those crazy people who sleeps 10 hours.
