The new Negan and Maggie Spinoff of The Walking Dead, called Dead City, is soon to hit our screens. We will definitely miss the original show, but with Negan and Maggie still interacting, it probably will feel like the series never really ended. Let’s take a look at when Dead City will air.
TWD: Dead City will Premiere in April 2023
Formerly called Isle of the Dead, Dead City will hit our screens in April of 2023, according to The Digital Spy. Confirmed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan during a panel at the New York Comic-Con, fans were happy to hear that we will be seeing the stars in the Walkers universe sooner rather than later. We’ll have to wait less than half a year on this one!
Maggie and Negan will travel through a post-apocalyptic Manhattan that, according to AMC, has been “shut off from the mainland.” The official synopsis on IMDB Pro reads : “Maggie and Negan travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world.”
TWD promo’s Twitter account posted this promo video in October, hyping the arrival of the show.

Screen Rant also posted a video on YouTube saying that shooting of the first season is happening in New Jersey. They said: “Official first-look images have been released, revealing Maggie’s hatred for Negan is far from over.”
IMDB Pro also shows the show as having 6 episodes total, but the real amount is still not confirmed to this date.
Other Spinoffs are in the Works
We also know that there will be a Daryl Dixon spinoff. Daryl was an original character developed for the show and rapidly became one of its most beloved heroes. The majority of the Walking Dead’s characters and stories have been based on the comic book written by Robert Kirkman, but Daryl was one of the few exceptions.
Daryl Dixon, who is portrayed by Norman Reedus and is one of the few members of Rick Grimes’ gang from Atlanta who has made it to the last episode of “The Walking Dead,” is a flawed, sympathetic badass. Fans of the show can’t wait until this new series appear on screen.

We also know about the Rick and Michonne spin-off and this is going to be a game changer in what we know about TWD universe, in conjunction with the Daryl series. It is said that Daryl’s spinoff is going to showcase a whole different breed of walkers, as per Screen Rant.
“The exact circumstances as to how Daryl makes his way to Europe are currently unknown, but the details that have been revealed of his Walking Dead spinoff suggest that zombie life is significantly different over there,” Screen Rant wrote.
What do you think is going to happen overseas? And how do you think the Rick and Michonne spin-offs are going to tie in with Dead City, if even it will? Let us know!
