Post-Apocalyptic TV Shows Returning in 2024

Halo season 2

The return of the Halo TV show is scheduled for February 8, featuring the elite Spartan warrior Master Chief embarking on his most challenging battle to date. In Season 2, the narrative will dig into the fall of Reach, a crucial stronghold for humanity. The stakes are high, as losing Reach to the Covenant could spell the destruction of Earth. The eight-episode season will be available exclusively on Paramount Plus, promising to stand out as one of the premier video game adaptations of the year.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 – The Book of Carol

Although there is no official date yet, Season 2 of Daryl Dixon, titled The Book of Carol, will air its first episode in 2024, and we can’t wait for this to happen! Melissa McBride was set to make her return as the character Carol in the much-anticipated season one finale, a significant revelation disclosed during the New York Comic Con (NYCC) last year.

The Last of Us Season 2

The casting process for the second season encountered a delay in May 2023, attributed to the Writers Guild of America strike. During this hiatus, actors participated in auditions using scenes from the video game, The Last of Us Part II, as alternative scripts due to the unavailability of the original scripts. The production team aimed to kick off the casting for the second season by focusing on the character Abby. According to co-creator/executive producer Craig Mazin, and later confirmed by the Los Angeles Times, Abby’s role had already been filled before the strike. The official announcement of Kaitlyn Dever’s casting as Abby was made on January 9, 2024, followed by Mazin’s role as Jesse on January 10, and Merced’s portrayal of Dina on January 11.
