Up until recently, there hasn’t been any news about Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2. We were left in the dark wondering if Netflix had completely forgotten about the show which was released on March 4, 2021. When the network dropped a trailer for season two, however, fans were relieved to know that there would be closure to the characters’ stories. Here’s when Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2 premieres.

When Does Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2 Premiere?
Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2 premieres April 19, 2022 and is a Netflix exclusive, so you won’t be able to find it on any other streaming service. Unfortunately, that’s about the only detail that can be found about the show. IMDB only shows one episode to this date, so it is unclear if Season 2 will contain 7 episodes like its previous season.
Most new shows on Netflix premiere around 3 a.m. Eastern/2 a.m. Central/12 a.m. Pacific, so this is likely the time it will first be available on April 19.

Wiki reads “Set in the same universe as the first movie and after an alternate version of events from Pacific Rim: Uprising, a race of monsters called Kaiju arise from the Pacific Rim and overrun the continent of Australia. Humans build gigantic armed robots, Jaegers, to fight back, but fail and the continent is abandoned leaving only isolated pockets of survivors. Teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley Travis are left behind by their parents who leave to combat the Kaiju but never return. Five years later, Hayley stumbles across a long-abandoned training Jaeger called Atlas Destroyer which she and Taylor activate and set out on a quest to find their parents. They not only have to deal with marauding Kaiju, but other survivors who are also fighting for survival and attempt to seize Atlas Destroyer themselves.”
Season two continues with Hayley and Taylor, who carry on with their trek to Sydney, piloting Atlas Destroyer with Mei and Boy from the first season in tow, but first, they must get past a murderous cult known as The Sisters.

Which questions will be answered in the second season? Will the siblings find their parents? What will happen to Boy? We can’t wait to find out in this new binge-worthy season!
For those interested, on February 22, 2022, a prequel graphic novel was released for the show. The 104 page novel is titled Pacific Rim:Blackout and has for synopsis “Herc Hanson, the PPDC Ranger returns as a world-weary jaeger pilot dragged into battle as an influx of kaiju threatens to destroy the Australian continent and all its inhabitants. Along with his niece Olivia, his copilot Cooper, and Marshal Rask, Herc faces brand-new kaiju of epic proportions while battling his own inner demons. “
