Eighty-Six Episode 19 was phenomenal, so of course you’ll want to watch 86 Episode 20 as soon as it releases. (Some may refer to this as 86 Season 2 Episode 9.) Well, if you’re trying to find the new episode, we have some bad news. It’s been delayed. 😞 And yes, this delay comes shortly after we already had a delay before the last episode.
86 Episode 20 Is Not Releasing This Week
Normally we would get a new episode of 86 (Episode 20) on Saturday, December 11. But for the third time during the second part of this season, the episode was delayed.
The official 86 website noted that “the broadcast on Saturday, December 11 will be suspended due to a special organization. Please check this schedule for details on future broadcasts.”
On Reddit, some viewers noted that December 11 is “Japan Day,” which is why the episode isn’t airing. One Redditor wrote wrote: “December 11th and 12th there will be an 86 X SAO collaboration stage on Dengeki Bunko Fest, don’t have very high hopes tho since it’s probably nothing much but hey we could get something interesting out of it.”
When Does 86 Episode 20 Air?
Hopefully we will only have to wait a week for the new episode to air, however the anime’s website has not yet confirmed that this is the case. If it airs just one week late, then 86 Episode 20 will air in the U.S. next week on Saturday, December 18 at its regular time. That would be on Crunchryoll at 9:30 a.m. Pacific on the West Coast, 10:30 a.m. Mountain, 11:30 a.m. Central, and 12:30 p.m. Eastern.

However, it should be noted that the official website does not list December 18 as the date that Episode 20 is going to air. When Episode 19 was delayed, the website immediately shared that it would air a week later on December 4. However, the website has not officially stated when Episode 20 is going to air. We’re hoping that it will air on December 18, but this isn’t yet confirmed. Many viewers on the official subreddit, however, are saying the show will return to its regular schedule after Episode 20’s delay, so hopefully this is accurate.
An Anniversary Event Is Taking Place in April
The 86 official website also revealed that a special anniversary event will take place on Sunday, April 10, 2022, with the exact time being revealed at a later date. Anyone who purchased a Blu-ray or DVD will be able to participate in early ticket sales. This event will take place at the Tokyo Dome City Hall and will include members of the cast and a live act. The event should include a lunch performance and a night performance.
