Attack on Titan’s New Episode Won’t Be on Toonami for Some Time

While Toonami will eventually get the new episodes, it’s not going to happen today. Don’t expect to be able to watch Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 17 on Toonami any time soon. The earliest you’ll most likely see the new episode is a month from now. While Toonami hasn’t officially released a date yet, this estimate is based on past seasons.

When the new Attack on Titan episodes are available on Toonami, they’ll be posted here. Toonami specializes in sharing the English dubs of Attack on Titan, and posts them a few hours before they’re added to Funimation. Last year, Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 1 released on December 6, 2020. But the Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 1 dub didn’t release on Toonami until about a month later on January 9, 2021. So while Toonami is expected to eventually get Season 4 Part 2, it won’t likely be until the channel releases the dubs in about a month from now.\

Toonami announced on December 22 that the first English dub was releasing on January 9. So no, we likely won’t get an official announcement this weekend about the date of Toonami’s dubs either. Although English subtitles always release just hours after Japan releases every Attack on Titan episode, the dubbed versions take longer.

On January 6, Toonami shared a glimpse into its plans for the weekend on Facebook. The channel wrote: “We’re really sorry that we haven’t been able to announce anything before now, but we’ve been waiting on lots of deals to lock into place. We still can’t give you ALL the details, but for now we can at least tell you this Saturday’s line up. Also, we’re going to be premiering a new show each week for the next month or so. Stand by for more details on that, and in the meantime, check out Saturday’s full line up below. Thanks for sticking with us!”

Where Can You Watch Attack on Titan’s New Episodes?

Since Toonami isn’t an option, where can you watch the new episodes, including Season 4 Episode 17 when it airs on Sunday, January 9?

You can watch the new episode on Funimation, where it will be posted at this link once it drops. The English dubs will also be posted there in about a month from now. Make sure you change the dropdown menu to read Season 4.

The new episodes will also air on Hulu and on Crunchyroll at the same time (subtitled only — dubs will only be on Funimation and Toonami.)
