What is Tears of the Kingdom About?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom lets you explore Hyrule on your own terms, from the huge overworld to the enigmatic floating islands below. Producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi are both returning from their positions on Breath of the Wild. The concept for the game came about after the developers realized they would have to scrap some of the DLC for BOTW. Like in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011), new features include islands floating above Hyrule that may be sailed between. So we are expecting a few Easter eggs here in there that will coincide with the title!

We do not have a great deal of information on the plot of Tears of the Kingdom at this time. however, we can absolutely expect an experience that is somewhat less open-ended than Breath of the Wild to those players who are searching for something a bit more structured than that. According to the most recent video, there will be a far greater emphasis than we have seen in recent years on the connection between Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, as well as allies, villages, dungeons, epic boss battles, and the overall progression of the story.

Although we are aware that Tears of the Kingdom takes place shortly after Breath of the Wild and includes components as well as locales that were previously visited in Skyward Sword, understanding how this game fits into the overall narrative of the series is a bit more challenging. Nintendo is very good at hiding any types of details about games until its release, and that’s probably for the best. It will leave a sense of mystery to new and old players alike.

What’s New In The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Along with new mysteries, there is a new, really exciting ability called ‘Fuse’ in the game. According to Gamespot’s review of the small amount of time they could experience a demo, reporter Steve Watts said “”Combat is as engaging as you would expect from a sequel to Breath of the Wild, but the Fuse ability adds a new dimension of experimentation… While the demo showed off the massive scope and versatility in just a few small areas, it feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface. My demo included absolutely no story content, I didn’t explore any shrines, and I’m no closer to answering the question of whether Tears of the Kingdom will include more traditional Zelda dungeons. There’s a lot of mystery left to uncover, even after receiving a much better sense of the new building tools.”
