Travis Beacham’s Impact Winter audio drama was the surprise hit of 2022, jumping straight up to the number one spot on Audible’s bestseller list when it released in February. But now that the prequel comic is on the horizon, we’ll get to see even more of the early story behind Darcy’s life only one year after the comet hit Earth.

“In the British countryside, a band of survivors has formed a resistance in the fallout shelter of a medieval castle,” the press release reads. “Among them is Darcy, a young, headstrong fighter waiting for her chance to prove she can be on the front lines. But when that opportunity comes, Darcy will come face to face with the true horrors of this new world.”

Impact Winter ComicThe Impact Winter comic series is written by Beacham with art by Stephen Green (Hellboy and the BPRD), colors by Matt Hollingsworth (Batman: White Knight), and letters by Andworld Design.

The Impact Winter audio series is an Audible exclusive set a decade after a comet collided with Earth, kicking up enough debris and dust to black out the atmosphere and cause a strange race of vampires to emerge.

The story follows Darcy, a vampire hunter who emerges from her underground bunker to fight a powerful undead leader who threatens humanity. With this prequel comic, we’ll see more of Darcy’s story as she develops into the badass we known and love in the Audible series.

This first 40-page issue of the comic will go on sale Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
