No one can deny that last week’s episode of The Handmaid’s Tale (Season 6 Episode 9) had an amazing opening. Taylor Swift’s version of “Look What You Made Me Do” was released as a backdrop to June and Moira and the other Handmaids trying to escape Gilead after enacting revenge on the Commanders. The video montage with the song was epic. But some fans say that hidden in those opening minutes was a secret appearance by Taylor Swift.
Director and star Elisabeth Moss says this rumor isn’t true. But we’ll let you judge for yourself.
Fans across TikTok were sharing videos comparing the long-haired silhouette that exits a truck last, and then turns to the left, with Swift’s iconic swagger.

While the evidence does seem compelling, Moss told Deadline that the rumor wasn’t true.
“That’s amazing! Of course it’s not [Swift]. Of course it’s not her. Oh my God, that’s hilarious. I love that idea, though,” she said.
She confirmed it in another quote: “I’m afraid that’s not Taylor. She’s pretty busy. I feel like if she was going to come do our show, we would’ve made sure we saw her face.”
