The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Premieres Early Morning April 28 or Late Night April 27

The first three episodes will drop later at night on April 27 or early morning April 28, depending on which time zone you’re in within the United States.

Based on the time that other shows have premiered on Hulu, you can expect The Handmaid’s Tale to drop at 12 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday, April 28.

On the west coast (in the Pacific Time Zone), the episodes will premiere at 9 p.m. Pacific on Tuesday night, April 27, which is perfect to catch at least some of the episodes before you go to sleep.

For Central Time Zone viewers, you’ll be able to start watching at 11 p.m. Eastern on April 27.

For Mountain Zone viewers, you can watch at 10 p.m. Mountain time.

In the Hawaiian time zone, you can watch at 6 p.m. on April 27, which is a much more convenient time for these viewers!

In Alaska, that’s 8 p.m. on April 27 in Juneau.

Note that some publications have wrongly published that the new episodes are airing at 12 a.m. Pacific. This is NOT accurate. They are airing at 12 a.m. Eastern. Hulu drops new episodes a little earlier than Netflix or Disney Plus.

Whatever time zone you’re in, if you tune in during the afternoon or evening on April 28, all three of the episodes will be available for you to watch.

How to Watch Outside the U.S.

Just a note that The Handmaid’s Tale is airing on Hulu in the U.S., but this isn’t the same across the world. In the UK, for example, you can catch it on Amazon Prime UK. Sometimes Amazon Prime UK adds new episodes about two days after they air in the U.S., but it might take longer for this show.

In the UK, Channel 4 has said the new season will be available in Spring 2021, but there’s no date released yet.

SBS Australia, meanwhile, will be showing each episode on the same day that it premieres in the U.S.

HBO Nordic will have the episodes to stream a day after they air in the U.S. In Romania, HBO will release the new episodes on the same day as Hulu.

What to Expect in Season 4

As a quick refresher, Season 3 ended with June succeeding in her plan to help 86 children escape Gilead into Canada. June sacrificed herself to distract the guards so the children could escape, but a guard tailer her into the woods and shot her. The last scene showed her being carried by Handmaids.

Here are the details we have about the first two episodes in Season 4:

Episode 1: Pigs

“An injured June and the fugitive Handmaids find refuge at a farm, an imprisoned Lawrence tries to avoid a death sentence, Aunt Lydia reels from the loss of 86 children on Angels’ Flight, and the combative Waterfords learn of June’s feat.”

Episode 2: Nightshade

“June plots revenge at the local Jezebels, before she and the Handmaids plan to leave the farm for the next safe house, Moira deals with the fallout of June’s choices, while Serena and Fred are bound together by a miracle.”
