We have exactly two weeks left until the highly anticipated second season drops for Snowpiercer, and to help ramp up excitement, TNT has released a brand new trailer that shows off more Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) and Melanie’s daughter, Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard).

You may remember in the final moments of the Season One finale when Alexandra was first revealed, but this trailer shows that we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of her and the estranged relationship she has with her mother, played by Jennifer Connelly.

The one-and-a-half-minute trailer catches us up with the events of Season One and where we left off at the end. We then see Mr. Wilford introducing the people from the first train into his train with open arms. “Welcome to Big Alice,” he says. Big Alice is the name of the second train we saw connect to the first train in the season finale last year.

“Apocalypse isn’t so bad, really,” Mr. Wilford says while the trailer shows clips of him living the good life in the second train. “I think we’re going to get to know each other very well.”

But things don’t seem to be all flowers and candy just yet. Layton (Daveed Diggs) lets Mr. Wilford know that his group is not willing to surrender. It’s an interesting dynamic as we just saw Layton and Melanie join forces at the end of last season, only to have that disrupted by the introduction of Mr. Wilford, whom Melania seems to fear.

“Wilford’s train arrives on the horizon, and Season 2 is this very timely examination of authoritarianism coming up against a fledgling democracy, and the difficulties of that,” showrunner Graeme Manson said during a Comic Con panel in October. “It finds Melanie and Layton on the same foot, which [marks] the next chapter of this relationship. So, Season 2 offers a lot more, with the complication of Wilford, the terrible nemesis, and then Rowan’s character.”

Be sure to check out our previous coverage from Season One to get all caught up before Season Two comes out January 25th at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TNT.
