Netflix has dropped the latest trailer for its upcoming Resident Evil series that focuses on the Wesker family.

The trailer shows Albert Wesker telling his two daughters, Billie and Jade, to escape from the same compound we saw in earlier trailers. The storyline for this 8-episode show will focus on a back-and-forth between the pre-apocalyptic events of New Raccoon City in 2022 and the post-apocalyptic wasteland of infected in 2036. We follow the Wexler family throughout the whole thing with the main spotlight on Jade (played by Ella Balinska).

“In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the sinister Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie,” the show’s description reads.

In addition to this trailer, we also got our hands on some behind-the-scenes teaser photos from visual effects supervisor Kevin Lingenfelser who confirms that there’s a scene in this new series that is reminiscent of Jill Valentine’s opening scene in the Resident Evil 3 remake.

“Yes, that was 100% intentional! That shot was not easy to achieve, as an entire camera rig had to be removed from @SienaAgudong by the artisans at @marzvfx,” Lingenfelser said on Twitter.

Netflix’s Resident Evil series will premiere on July 14.
