Attack on Titan’s Season 4 Episode 23 English dub drops on Funimation on Sunday night, March 27, at about 9:30 p.m. Central/10:30 p.m. Eastern/8:30 p.m. Mountain/7:30 p.m. Pacific/3:30 a.m. UTC. A representative from Funimation confirmed these times with us. (Funimation’s website schedule also confirms that Episode 82 is dropping on Sunday. We double-checked since the sub episodes are taking a week off.)

You can watch the English dub of Episode 82 on Funimation at this link. (Or you can get a free trial on that link too.)

When you’re ready to watch, change the dropdown menu on Funimation to Season 4. Each episode will have “English/Japanese” beneath the episode title (and other languages where available) once the dub is available. This let’s  you choose between the sub (Japanese) or dub. Once the new episode has “English” listed under the title, you’ll know the dub is available.

To watch the new episode, you’ll need a paid account.

You Can Watch the English Dub on Toonami on Saturday Night/Sunday Morning

Toonami gets the English dub episode a few hours before Funimation every week. However, you’ll need a cable or satellite subscription that gets Cartoon Network/Adult Swim in order to have this option.

According to Toonami’s schedule, Season 4 Episode 23 (“Sunset”) airs on TV at 12:30 a.m. Eastern on Sunday, March 27 (11:30 p.m. Central on Saturday night, March 26.) If you have cable, the channel guide will list it on either Adult Swim, Cartoon Network or Toonami (all are names for the same channel.)

Some regions may air it at a different time, so you’ll want to check your local cable listings to be sure of the air time, just in case.

Toonami’s airing should also be available on Hulu Live TV, Sling TV, AT&T Now, and YouTube TV services, as long as they have access to the Cartoon Network. (Note that this is Hulu with Live TV, not the regular Hulu service.)

You can see Toonami’s schedule here. Clicking on the Attack on Titan link on Toonami takes you to Adult Swim’s page here. Season 4 Episode 23 will be added at this link (likely after it has streamed on TV), but you’ll need a cable login to watch.

Season 4 Episode 22 Refresher

Here’s where we left off last week (spoilers below from last week!) For a full review, check out our review and analysis of S4E22 here.

Last week’s episode, “Thaw,” ended with Annie finally thawing from her shell after all this time — an unexpected side effect of Eren taking down the walls.

Prior to that, the show took us on a roller coaster of emotions. Eren left the Pure Titans to endanger the lives of his friends — perhaps so they wouldn’t interfere with his plans — as he led the Rumbling to the rest of the world. The Survey Corps (now with Hange or Levi) dispensed of all the Titans in an amazingly professional and impressive fashion. The most heartbreaking scene, though, was when Pyxis appeared in Titan form and Armin had to kill him. 🙁

Connie took off with a passed out Falco, ready to feed him to his mom. Gabi, meanwhile, saved Kaya’s life from a Nile-turned-Titan, and she and Kaya now have an uneasy but heartfelt truce. Even Niccolo came to Gabi’s defense after she rescued Kaya and put her own life on the line. Gabi’s had a true change of heart in the last few episodes. Hearing her beg Armin for Falco’s life, when there was nothing Armin could do, was heartbreaking.

Shaddis was one of the most uplifting parts of the episode, riding in as the unexpected hero.

It’s been a roller coaster season so far, between last week’s episode, the episode where we learned about the Founder Ymir’s origin, and learning about the Attack Titan’s secret powers.

We’re left with a lot of questions as we wait for the new episode. Where is Zeke? Will anyone be able to stop Eren? What will happen now that Annie is awake? Is Levi still alive at all? Is everyone going to die?
